PPWR · EPR · Country knowledge
Packaging reporting needs reliable data: which materials were used, how much, and for which destination? MES.Pack helps you build that foundation in your daily packing workflow.
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) generally applies from 12 August 2026, with requirements phased in over time. Registration, producer-responsibility and reporting obligations depend on your role and the country concerned.
European Commission on PPWR ↗Store composition and weights for each packaging item and record its use when packing.
Bring together material usage from completed jobs for your analysis.
Use quantity reports as a foundation and check them against the applicable national reporting requirements.
MES.Pack supports documentation and analysis. Automatic registration or submission to authorities and producer-responsibility schemes is not currently included. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 ↗
Your business. Your workflow.
Users, your own materials, locations and packing stations: MES.Pack reflects how your business works. Stock management and inventory counts support daily operations, with further integrations planned.
How it works →PPWR · Understanding roles
Manufacturer (German: Erzeuger): is responsible for packaging conformity. This can also include having packaging or packaged products made under one's own name or trademark.
Producer (German: Hersteller): has extended producer responsibility in the relevant Member State. The role depends on packaging type, supply chain and first making available, among other factors. Both roles may belong to the same business.
The microenterprise threshold is fewer than 10 employees and annual turnover or annual balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 2 million. Linked enterprises, annual work units and the two-year status-change rules must be considered. Size alone does not determine the role or an exemption.
